The CCTS by SSi uses state of the art technology and a fully computerized operating system to simplify the testing process and guarantee the results are accurate and repeatable. Oscilloscopes display the data upstream and downstream of the filter in real-time to visually represent the data under various conditions specified in the test.
A filters contaminant capacity determined in the standard multi-pass test system is the Retained Capacity. This is a calculated value that is numerically different and does not directly relate to the Actual Capacity.
Actual vs. Retained Capacity
The Actual Capacity is the measured amount of contaminant that can be injected into a filter to increase the pressure differential to a pre-determined value. The CCTS by SSi automatically monitors and controls all variables defined within the test environment. There is no need to employ several experienced laboratory technicians or operators dedicated exclusively to conducting these tests.
Test equipment specified in the ISO 16889 requires a fully equipped laboratory and several additional supporting test systems to complete a filter performance test. The cost to equip and operate the total capabilities required are not usually recognized. The initial cost of the required facilities are several times greater than the cost of a Multi-pass Test Stand. This facility would also include an on-going operating budget that would include a staff of experienced technical personnel. |
